Speaking of ignorance, there's a little gem in the Arkansas Democrat Gazette. Apparently, global warming is being caused by Daylight Savings Time starting earlier this year. The pain! Oh, the pain!
Mark Chu-Carroll (Good Math, Bad Math) shows off a really cool video of the Kaye effect, whereby a stream of liquid flowing onto a smooth surface will occasionally shoot off jets that merge back into the downward stream. I think I'm going to need more shampoo (and someone to help clean the inevitable mess I'll make).
